History of IAP Worldwide
The history of IAP Worldwide establishment dates back in 1953 when Pan Am World Services build America’s first space launch in Florida. The company supported the testing of more than 2,000 launches though after operating for roughly 45 years, they acquired full facility support and maintenance, including construction management, engineering services and airport master planning.
In 1989, the company was acquired by Johnson Controls forming the legendary Johnson Controls Worldwide. Johnson Controls Worldwide developed innovative mechanisms to increase the energy efficiency while automating its facility’s lighting, fire, secure systems and environmental controls, eventually becoming the global leader in management and maintenance of military and commercial facilities.
In 1990, IAP was established initially to supply power generators to the US Army in Saudi Arabia. After months of operation, the company became a trusted support partner for the US troops winning contracts for emergency transfer relief, mobile power generations and other international procurements. In 2005, IAP pursued growth by acquiring Johnson Control Worldwide consolidating all its readiness management support divisions to form IAP Worldwide Services.
IAP Worldwide split into three line of business; Base Operation Support Services, Technical and Professional Services, and Global Operations and Logistics. The company began building its image by solving sophisticated challenges while responding to changes in this vibrant environment. The company extended its pursuit of growth acquiring several other companies such as G3 Systems, a UK-based engineering firm that operated overseas.
Today, IAP Worldwide supports more than 175,000 personnel at the various military installation in the Middle East and the USA, with roughly 2,500 employees operating in over 110 countries.
