Dr. Mark McKenna, MD, MBA, originally from New Orleans, is a surgeon licensed in Georgia and Florida State Boards of Medical Examiners. Dr. Mark McKenna is a surgeon and entrepreneur. He was granted a medical degree from Tulane University Medical School. For a period he practiced medicine with his father.
His interests turned to business, while still practicing medicine. He founded McKenna Venture Investments, which develops real estate. Dr. Mark McKenna then spun off two more companies, Universal Mortgage Lending and Uptown Title, Inc. which employed over fifty employees.
His companies specialized in promoting turnkey finance and real estate closing business services. His real estate development company designed and built its client’s office space.
However, on August 29, 2005, Hurricane Katrina destroyed McKenna’s client base of business. Undaunted, Dr. Mark McKenna, following the storm, passionately jumped into action with a civic commitment to dedicate himself to rebuild New Orleans by redeveloping income housing.
After McKenna relocated to Atlanta, GA in November of 2007. On November 1, 2014, Dr. Mark McKenna, in Atlanta, founded Shapmed, wellness, and aesthetic based medical practice. In July 2017, he was the founder/CEO of OVME, which means “OF ME.” OVME is a medical aesthetics enterprise.
An anesthetic practice concentrates on cosmetic improvements, which includes the treatment of scars; liver spots excess fat, skin laxity, wrinkles, moles, cellulite, spider veins, unwanted hair, and skin discoloration.
The techniques include both surgery and laser treatments requiring a specialist in dermatology and reconstructive surgery to perform surgical and nonsurgical procedures to remove excess fat, and facelifts. All techniques are designed to improve the patient’s quality of life.
As a result of Dr. Mark McKenna’s excellent reputation, he was chosen to serve in the role of the National Medical Director of Life Time Fitness Inc. Dr. McKenna’s is viewed as a successful entrepreneur as a change agent in aesthetic medicine. He was featured by CBS in a new show, Doctorpreneur. The CBS show centered around Dr. McKenna’s ShapeMed practice.
