Dick DeVos, Jr. was born October 21st, 1955. He is the oldest son of business entrepreneur and cofounder of Amway, Richard DeVos. From 1993 to 2002, he worked as CEO of his father’s company. Amongst his many ventures, he has ran for in the state of Michigan. He and his wife Elizabeth have been married for more than 35 years. Together, they have seven children and five grandchildren.
Dick DeVos is listed as one of the top 100 richest men in the United States of America. Along with his great success is great generosity, he has created many fundraisers. He founded the Education Freedom Fund, a scholarship program for underprivileged Michigan students. He has also donated millions of dollars towards education funding initiatives. Dick DeVos doesn’t only donate his money, he donates his time into furthering education by serving on the State Board of Education. Dick DeVos, Jr. is a New York Times best-selling author. His 1998 book “Rediscovering American Values” was published by E.P. Dutton. The book even contains a foreword by Untied States of America President Gerald R. Ford. DeVos was born in Grand Rapids, Michigan. He attended Northwood University, where he received his bachelor’s degree in business administration. He also attended Wharton Business School and Harvard Business School.
Dick DeVos has many passions, including aviation and sailing. He created the West Michigan Aviation Academy, a character school, in 2010. He is a licensed helicopter pilot.
