Brian Bonar: Earned It The Right Way

I have a great amount of respect for people like Brian Bonar. Everything they have received in life, they have done it the right way. They have never looked for shortcuts, the easy road, or to cheat themselves or the system. Even if it’s a harder path or takes longer, they would rather follow the rules, do it the right way, as it means more when it’s done properly.

Throughout his almost thirty year career, Brian Bonar has been a man of high principal and a man with a strong moral fiber. He has values, beliefs, and ideas that he sticks strongly to. That doesn’t mean the man is stubborn, however. You don’t last thirty years in the financial sector if you are stubborn and hard-headed. You need to be open to ideas from all parties.

As Chairman and CEO of Dalrada Financial Corporation, he is always ready and willing to listen to his employees. After all, he hired them for a reason and they are qualified for the job. He wants them to know they can talk to him at any time and he will be there to listen and help. Read more: Brian Bonar / People / MG2

Yes, he is the CEO, but he also likes to be a friend to his employees as well. However, even though he can be a friend, he knows how to walk the line of being a friend while also being the boss. They know he is the boss, they respect him, and they treat him as such. Just because he might be friendly or you can talk to him, it doesn’t mean you can do whatever you want and walk all over him. He just wants his employees to feel comfortable.

His work was recently recognized by Cambridge Who’s Who┬« Executive of the Year in Finance. While he doesn’t do the work for awards or special attention, he would be lying if he said it didn’t mean a great deal to him because it does. It is a very special award as only two men and two women receive it every year. It means that people are noticing what he is doing and they are standing up and paying attention and giving him the praise that he has earned and deserves.

It is about time, in my view. Bloomberg said that Brian Bonar has always put his head down, worked hard, and done the job the way it should be done. He likes to be a leader also that people learn from and observe from. They see how he has done it for over thirty years and maybe they will pick up a few times from observing him. You can learn a lot from watching someone and how they conduct themselves each and every day on the job.
